Running
A half marathon in 1 h 54 with no preparation, and forty-two kilometres in 3 h 55 with preparation. Two races that are mostly about preparation.
- Ongoing
Running started in 2018, with no club and no training plan.
The most satisfying race is the oldest. In 2019, during preparatory classes, forty-two kilometres on foot with friends, in three hours fifty-five, the distance of a marathon, with no bib and no official time. With preparation: one run a week, ten kilometres each time, for months. The body asks for nothing but that regularity; it demands neither intensity nor a complicated method, only that you come back every week.
The other is more recent and much worse. November 2025, Toulouse half marathon, one hour fifty-four. Not a time to boast about, and the context explains why: two runs in three months. Start with the fitness of the moment, and finish.
The two together say the essential about long-distance running: the gap between them is not a gap in talent, it is the interval between two runs. It is the most direct sport on this list, because it gives back exactly what it was given.
