Mountain biking in Haute-Savoie: riding up red ski runs in summer in order to ride back down. Road cycling, for now, is a wish without a bike.

Growing up near Annecy explains most of this page: when the terrain starts right outside the door, cycling is not a sport you decide to do, it is how you get around.
The actual practice, since around 2019, is mountain biking, in a precise form: climbing red-rated ski runs in summer, on leg power alone, to ride back down them. A red run is not cut for a bike, since the gradient is a skier’s, and that is what makes the climb long and the descent serious.
Road cycling is a wish, and nothing more for now: no road bike yet. Until the machine is there, it is not a practice.
