Anecdotes

World flags memorized at ten, a gemstone collection, a teddy bear that never left. What doesn't fit anywhere else on this site, but still counts.

  • Ongoing

An acknowledged catch-all: the interests that fit nowhere else on this site, but count as much as the code or the chess.

At ten, every flag in the world learned by heart. Hard to say why that one in particular, but a closed system with that many visible variations is exactly the kind of thing that sticks easily.

A gemstone collection, and more broadly an attraction to anything golden and shiny, a fairly simple, almost animal fascination.

A lasting attachment to teddy bears; one is still around today.

More recently, politics and philosophy have taken much of the room left by the stones and the flags: the same curiosity, applied to more abstract systems.
